Proclamation Rally "TEAM UNITY"

The senatorial race under the administration ticket is finally complete. It composes of the administration loyalists, some former members of the opposition and new comers in the politics.

As a student, many questions arose as I looked at the list of the administration's senatorial candidates. Why do the administration loyalists remain faithful to the administration in spite of all the controversies it's facing? Why do the former members of the opposition decide to run under the administration ticket? Why do celebrities want to venture into politics? What can these candidates do for the country and for the Filipino people?

Thanks to the proclamation rally held at the San Fernando Convention Center on February 22 and some of my questions were somehow answered.

Actually, I was expecting that many among these candidates would say that they are truly-blooded Kapampangans since they were in Pampanga. And yes, many of them claimed that they really are Kapampangans. There are those who even memorized Kapampangan words such as: kaluguran ko reng Cabalen (I love the Cabalens). But I was impressed Tessie Aquino-Oreta when she started speaking straight Pampango dialect.

As a former member of the opposition, Tessie, along with Tito Sotto and Edgardo Angara, told that she’s fed up of seeking out for the flaws of the administration. She doesn’t anymore want to interrupt the programs that the administration wants to implement. Honestly speaking, she really has a point. But why only now did she realize this? Anyway, it’s good that she finally realized that “political hate” is just a barrier for the progress of the country.
